If you want to get away from the busy city, head to Jupiter Ridge Natural Area, a 271-acre preserve located 4 miles north of downtown Jupiter. This preserved land is home to five ecosystems, including Florida scrub, depression marsh, tidal swamp, flatwampum, and wetlands. Hikers can explore the natural area's trails and watch for wildlife. It is open every day, from sunrise to sunset, so there is always something to do.

Visitors to the reserve can also take advantage of a 36-hole miniature golf course located just a few miles from the city. The course features dramatic sea life and a waterfall. It is a great place for children to try their hand at golf while getting a dose of fresh air. During the day, the area is also home to a beach volleyball court and a cafe. It is also home to the Loxahatchee River Center, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate the public about the natural environment. More on the homepage.

This state-owned project includes 274 acres of natural area. It includes 7,600 feet of frontage on the Intracoastal Waterway. It's part of the Loxahatchee River/Lake Worth Creek Aquatic Preserve. The ICW has eroded some shoreline. Restoration efforts are focused on reducing erosion, and will include 23 limestone oyster reef/breakwaters. These restorations will be completed in the next few years, so you can experience them firsthand.

The lighthouse is another highlight of the area. Built in 1860, the lighthouse has been guiding sailors home for over 100 years. There's an interpretive museum featuring indigenous history and the Spanish exploration of the area. In 2008, the area surrounding the lighthouse was designated an Outstanding Natural Area. It includes mangrove trails, and the Loxahatchee River meets the open ocean. Spring training for the Miami Marlins draws baseball fans from all over the world to Jupiter.

If you're looking for a romantic getaway, Jupiter is the perfect place for a vacation. The Atlantic coast in Jupiter is a picture-perfect beachfront destination. You'll find some of the best beaches in Florida along the area's coastline. You'll also find plenty of cultural and natural attractions in Jupiter. This city is the perfect alternative to bustling Miami. You can find a quaint vacation rental along the oceanfront.

Scuba divers will find a unique experience at Jupiter Beach State Park. The mighty Loxahatchee River flows through the area and is home to a variety of aquatic life. Manatees, river otters, and alligators all live in this region. Even bald eagles nest in the area's cypress trees.
